***SQCC - X8 Central Services - VESDA Aspirator Unit replacement - non-Warranty and Water Trap Pipework Re-Engineering - June 2025*** **Leading Fire Services are pleased to submit for your consideration our proposal for repairs identified during the recent inspection of the fire protection equipment.** **As we have advised PFM by email on 12/6/2025, the previously replaced failed VESDA VEP Aspirator Unit in X8 Central Services has been rejected by the Supplier as on investigation as to the cause of the unit failure, they have reported that the unit has water inside it including the filter which was the direct cause of the unit failing. Our quotation is for the following;** **The probable cause of this water ingress is due to condensation in the pipework from hot, humid weather events that had accumulated over time. To prevent this from re-occurring in the future, we are proposing that we install a water trap on each Aspirator pipe (x3) to trap this water condensate before it has a chance to enter the unit. This can be visually monitored as the water trap unit is constructed from clear PVC pipe. To carry this out, we will need to make extensive modifications to each of the VESDA Pipes at the beginning of the pipe run to accommodate the water trap units.** **Our quotation includes the following;** **Supply price for the VESDA Unit - Warranty rejected.** **Supply and installation of 3 x new Water-trap devices, to be installed on the pipework before the pipework enters the aspirator, in an attempt to prevent water ingress from occurring again in the future.** Unless specifically noted above, or stated/included within our Scope of Works, the following inclusions, Exclusions, Notes and Conditions will apply: **INCLUSIONS:** • Labour during Leading Fire Services normal working hours (7.00am to 4.00pm Mon to Fri, excluding Public Holidays). **EXCLUSIONS:** • Any additional materials or parts not listed in this quote including diesel, batteries, tubes and the like. • Work outside of Leading Fire Services normal working hours (as nominated above). • Scaffolding, Elevated Work Platforms or any High Access Equipment over and above standard 1.8m Step. • Patching, Painting, Core Holes, Fire Penetrations, Fire Sealing, Chasing, Rendering or Cleaning – touch up painting of any doors or frames. • Any re-keying to match original pre-existing key setup of locksets that have been replaced or altered. • Access to Energex locked rooms. • If water isolation for repairs is not successful, costs will apply for pipe freeze. **NOTES & CONDITIONS:** • Leading Fire Services standard trading terms apply.
